SoloProtect Presents Lone Worker Safety to American Society of Safety Engineers

Richard Hambrick of SoloProtect presented to ASSE Region 3 to address lone worker safety and how it should be handled.

(Coppell, TX) Richard Hambrick, Vice President at SoloProtect, spoke at the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Region 3 Event at the Southwestern Energy Center in Spring, TX on June 18, 2015 at 11:00 am. The Council held their regular monthly meeting with a focus on safety in the Houston area.

According to OSHA, there were 4,525 work-related fatalities in the U.S. in 2013. This is an average of 88 workplace fatalities each day, or 12 an hour. The Bureau of Labor Statistics records 1,162,210 days lost to injury or illness in the same year. These statistics provide substantial reasoning that more can be done when it comes to lone worker safety.
Hambrick will spoke on the topic of Lone Worker Safety: The Need Is Here. Are You Filling It? The presentation focuses on promoting dynamic risk assessment among employees, the shortcomings of GPS and cellular phones and lone worker safety best practices. Hambrick will also focus on the importance of a clearly communicated policy and how to achieve buy-in from end users, field managers and executives to create a safer workplace for lone working employees.

“There are enough risks that every worker faces on a day-to-day basis. Companies just cannot afford to leave their employees who work alone without protection, and there are simple preventative measures that they can take. I want employers to be aware of the safety options that they have,” says Hambrick.

Hambrick came to SoloProtect in August 2014 from its parent company, Kings III Emergency Communications, as its Director of Sales. He has been involved in the Emergency Communications/ Life Safety and Electronic Security industry since 1981 with experiences in all phases of those service industries, including financial, operational, sales and central station management and development.
