SoloProtect Launches Carbon Reduction Plan, Setting Out Pathway to Net Zero by 2050

SoloProtect's new Carbon Reduction Plan establishes a measured emissions baseline and clear targets for reducing its environmental impact, including a commitment to achieving net zero by 2050.

A Measurable Commitment to a More Sustainable Future

SoloProtect has launched a new Carbon Reduction Plan, setting out measurable targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across its operations, products and supply chain, with a commitment to achieving net zero by 2050 at the latest.

Building on established environmental practices, the plan marks an important step in SoloProtect's sustainability journey, introducing a measured emissions baseline, defined reduction targets and a roadmap for long-term improvement.

Clear Targets for Reducing Emissions

Using 2025 as its baseline year, SoloProtect has identified total greenhouse gas emissions of 637.47 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent (tCO₂e), covering Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 emissions.

The Carbon Reduction Plan establishes three key commitments:

  • 2026: Reduce total gross greenhouse gas emissions by 10% against the 2025 baseline.
  • 2030: Reduce emissions associated with product devices and capital goods by 25% against the 2025 baseline.
  • 2050: Achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions at the latest.

Focusing on where we can make the greatest difference

With lone worker safety devices and capital goods accounting for approximately half of SoloProtect's measured emissions, extending product lifecycles and improving resource efficiency will be central to achieving its targets.

The plan outlines initiatives to increase opportunities for device refurbishment and redeployment, reduce waste, improve product design and work more closely with suppliers to address emissions across the wider value chain.

It also identifies opportunities to reduce environmental impact through energy efficiency, transport, logistics and everyday business operations.

Protecting people while protecting the environment

For SoloProtect, reducing environmental impact must go hand in hand with maintaining the safety and reliability of its lone worker solutions.

John Feather, VP – Product & Operations at SoloProtect, explains:

"Protecting people is at the heart of what we do, and we see responsible environmental management as a natural extension of that commitment.

"Our Carbon Reduction Plan gives us a clearer understanding of our environmental impact and a measurable framework for improvement. The challenge now is to turn those commitments into meaningful action, while continuing to deliver the safety, reliability and quality our customers depend on."

The plan will be reviewed as SoloProtect improves its emissions data, evaluates progress and identifies further opportunities for reduction.
